๐Ÿ“ฃ This November and December the Kings River Fishe ๐Ÿ“ฃ This November and December the Kings River Fisheries Management Program (KRFMP) is in need of volunteers to help with the 2026 Fish Population Survey--a vital effort that helps KRFMP understand the health of the Kings River habitat to guide future conservation efforts. Wading equipment and lunch will be provided for all volunteers. Volunteers are needed to assist our biologists on the following dates: ๐ŸŸ Tuesday, November 17 โ€“ AVOCADO SIDE ๐ŸŸ Thursday, November 19 โ€“ WINTON ๐ŸŸ Tuesday, December 1 โ€“ WILDWOOD ๐ŸŸ Wednesday, December 2 โ€“ GREENBELT The survey runs from 9am until approximately 3:30pm each day. While adverse weather or other unsafe on-site conditions may cause last minute cancellations, we typically survey rain or shine. We will notify participants as soon as possible in the event of a cancellation. Volunteers may sign up for one day or for multiple days as desired. "Water is one of our most valuable resources, and I take pride in helping protect and manage the systems that communities and agriculture depend on every day. What inspires me most is leading a team dedicated to making a lasting impact through reliable water management and flood protection."

"Working in GIS for KRCD lets me see and experience the full spectrum of water in valley โ€“ from crops to fish, to the land, animals, and people โ€“ it all affects and is affected by water. Collecting data and making maps at KRCD lets me visit all parts of the valley. I love getting to see the Kings River and the part it plays the valleyโ€™s ecosystem."
Charlotte Gallock, Director of Water Resources and Charlotte Gallock, Director of Water Resources and Chief Engineer shares her view on the responsibility of professionals working in water. "Water is the quiet force behind everything we value: the food on our tables, the health of our communities and the rivers that shape our land. It can sustain a valley and reshape it overnight. Water professionals carry the responsibility of managing this force wisely. Thank you to all the Water Professionals in the industry."

First up is Thomas Fortenberry, Senior Flood Worker at KRCD. โ€œAs a Senior Flood Worker, I take pride in helping protect our communities, farmland, and infrastructure from flood risks while ensuring our water systems operate safely and efficiently. What inspires me most is knowing that the work we do every day makes a real difference in safeguarding lives and supporting the future of our region.โ€

Under the direction of a supervisor or manager, the Resource Analyst I or II will be responsible for supporting a broad range of regulatory compliance, monitoring, member services, outreach, and program development activities. This position serves as a key liaison between Kings River Water Quality Coalition, Kings Water Alliance, consultants, regulatory agencies, growers, and agricultural stakeholders.
