One of the wonders of flowing water is its ability One of the wonders of flowing water is its ability to generate electricity. The Jeff L. Taylor Pine Flat Power Plant, located at Pine Flat Dam, uses water already bound downstream to also generate electricity, and has been a clean and renewable energy supply for the State Water Project for over 40 years! #WaterAwarenessMonth #CAWaterAwarenessMonth #CAWater
🏔️ Our region’s water security begins high 🏔️ Our region’s water security begins high in the mountains. Snowpack acts as the state’s largest natural reservoir, melting each year to provide the water that sustains our farms, cities, ecosystems, and hydropower generation. To achieve the most accurate forecasting of how much water is stored in the snow, where it is, and when it will melt, we use Airborne Snow Observatory (ASO) flights. More details on ASO's can be found in our recent blog. Link in bio.
