Annual Fish Population Survey Brings Together Partner Agencies and Local Volunteers – Watch Our Vlog of the Event!
November 29, 2018
Local participants donned waders and boots to join us for five days in the Kings River.
The annual Kings River population survey called on local volunteers and KRFMP member-agency employees of Kings River Conservation District (KRCD), Kings River Water Association (KRWA), and the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife (CA DFW) to assist in the Program’s ongoing fish population monitoring efforts.
The cooperation and hard work of willing partners and volunteers resulted in the collection of valuable data that will inform fishery biologists on overall river health, abundance of rainbow trout, and native fish groups. The data will also help detect the presence of invasive species, and will contribute to knowledge of fish population fluctuations and trends within the fishery below Pine Flat Reservoir.
